How It’s Made?

Paper is made by draining cellulose fibers from a suspension in water to be used for writing or printing on, on the other hand, tissue paper is lightweight paper type usually made of recycled paper pulp that can be used for hygienic and decorative reasons. These two types can be produced by using either paper pulp or recycled pulp. The machines that are used in the production process should be high technology and advanced science should be used to create formulas in order to produce high-quality products.

Whether they are made from sustainably harvested wood fiber trees or recycled paper, demand for tissue products guarantees that the resources used to make them will be plentiful for generations to come.

Daily Use of Tissue Paper

The products provide value in many ways and have helped to create modern life. Tissue products include those for sanitary use, such as bathroom and facial tissue, napkins, paper towels and wipes, and special sanitary papers used in sterile medical procedures. Disposable tissue products have helped reduce the spread of bacteria and communicable diseases.

There is a term called “ream” in the tissue industry. A ream is described as one unit of paper in which the sheets are all the same size and quality. Reams are regulated in the UK by the International Organisation for Standardisation to ensure manufacturers and retailers sell the same quantity of paper in a single ream. There are 480 sheets in a ream of tissue paper as to ISO specified.

GSM or Grams per Square Meter is another term which can be used to categorize the product. GSM is a numerical scale, the lower the number, the thinner the paper. Generally, tissue paper ranges from 10 to 35 GSM. For comparison, office printer paper is typically 70 to 100 GSM and greeting cards are 250+ GSM.
